K.M. Chandra Kumara
K.M. Chandra Kumara joining with PEaCE as a Programme Manager with a post graduate educational background in Political Science and Human Rights, and an extensive experience of working with vulnerable social groups in Sri Lanka. He holds a large set of skills essential to the work developed by our organization. Prior to joining PEaCE he worked as a Service Development Manager for the Lanka Alzheimer’s Foundation (LAF), where he designed and delivered advocacy programmes for vulnerable older adults suffering from ill health. He has also worked for the Foundation for Coexistence (FCE) and the Consortium of Humanitarian Agencies (CHA) where he participated in a variety of projects, including land and human security programmes, relief, rehabilitation, livelihood, water and sanitation, and public health projects, as well as legal protection and advocacy programmes for marginalized communities living in areas affected by war and natural disasters. He is an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Political Science and Public Policy at the University of Colombo. His expertise combined with his strong desire to support PEaCE’s cause make him a valuable asset to our team.
Finance and Administrative Manager
Taryn appointed as Finance and Admin Manager of PEaCE joins PEaCE with over 13 years of professional experience in Finance, HR and Secretarial in Sri Lanka and in UAE, in hospitality, NGO and corporate sectors. Prior to joining with PEaCE, she has been with Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Al Ghurair Investment LLC and Etisalat in UAE. She has also gained her experience working locally at CARE Sri Lanka, Eureka and Lanka Bell. Taryn has completed her Primary and Secondary education in Colombo, where she has been the Schools Head Prefect and actively participating in sports and other competitions. Her further studies has led her to excel in the field of finance and currently looking forward to pursuing her professional qualification. Taryn brings to us her commitment, positive attitude, team work, management, high quality communication, numeracy and IT skills.
Dulmika CHamodi Dayananda
Legal & Advocacy Officer
After completing her LLB from the University of Colombo, Chamodi joined PEaCE in 2017 as Legal & Advocacy Officer. She is currently following a Postgraduate Diploma in Diplomacy and World Affairs from the the BIDTI (Bandaranayake International Diplomatic Training Institution). Before this she has completed a diploma in the same area from the BIDTI. Prior to joining PEaCE Chamodi has completed an Internship at the WERC (Women’s Education Research Centre) and the Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka. She also have volunteering experience attached to the Public Representation Committee (PRC) on Constitutional Reforms as a V-Force member.
Ashan joined PEaCE as Information Officer in June 2017. He has a B. A. (Special) degree in Sinhala with English as a Subject (Peradeniya). Prior to joining the organization, he has worked as an Instructor in English at the University of Peradeniya and Senior Executive Assistant Manager – Translation in one of the leading telecommunication companies in the South Asian region. He has earned more than 10 years experience as a professional translator and a media personal. Ashan is a published writer (three collections in poetry in Sinhala) and an academic writer and also a citizen journalist with active focus on matters pertaining to pluralist democracy and ethnic reconciliation.
Administrative and logistic officer
He is also known as Roshan, joined PEaCE in 2011 as an assistant. Roshan is associated with PEaCE since 2000. In addition, he overlooked the logistic and administrative functions of the organization which lead him to becoming the administrative and logistic officer of the organization. Having had worked as a computer operator at Data Entry International Limited and Al Rajhi Bank, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia he has acquired skills and expertise that is valuable to the organization. His commitment, responsibility, personality and the ability to multitask has led him to become an invaluable asset to the organization.
Apsara Kasthuriarachchi joined PEaCE as the Advocacy Officer in October 2016. Holding 12 years of work experience in developing her family business, Apsara is a conscientious person who works hard and pays attention to detail. She has completed her LLB (UK) degree from University of Wolverhampton, it helped her to enhance and gain new skills, and it involved a great deal of independent research, self motivation. Apsara attended Gothami Balika Vidyalaya , Colombo where she held the post of senior prefect. At present Apsara is perusing studies at the Sri Lanka Law College to fulfill her long-term intention to become an Attorney- at-Law and simultaneously following Diploma in Criminology at the University of Sri Jayawardenaura.
Mrs. Weerasinghe joined our organisation recently as a Secretary. She has accrued many qualifications in Human Resources, Administration and Secretarial fields. She has had years of experiences at various NGOs and INGOS, most notably was her time as a human resources officer for 11 years at the International Committee of the Red Cross. She is a veteran in the humanitarian sector. Following this, she was employed at the Hasitha Kalansuriya and Company, Chartered Accountants for close to two years. Her efficiency and responsible nature have contributed to her being a valuable part of the PEaCE operation.
Tuan Ajeez Choan
Having served the organization for several years as a Temporary Assistant, Ajeez was absorbed into the position of Office Aid at PEaCE in 2017. He provides a vital support to the PEaCE team by providing tea and snack on time everyday, helping to prepare items to be distributed during the programmes conducted by the organization and being available at time when necessities arise.
