From April 5-7 2017, PEaCE will be conducting a training program on Investigation Skills and Court Proceedings for 50 police officers attached to the Children’s and Women Bureau, The main focus of the program is to develop the police officers investigation skills, knowledge on court proceedings and how to sensitively handle victims in a child-friendly manner. The three day training program will focus on providing police officers with practical and theoretical knowledge and skills development in the above mentioned areas. PEaCE will be collaborating with experts from the Attorney General’s department, the Colombo District Chief Judicial Medical Officer and Human Rights specialists to provide the police officers with comprehensive knowledge on the subject areas.
Having considered the feedback received from the previous program, it was understood that more focus must be given to the law-enforcement aspect.
